I am so happy to have you here! Thanks for visiting the blog and hanging out with me. Today I want to talk about "Crafting While Muslim" This summer has been such a great experience for me. I've learned a lot and I'm going to share some pics of my adventures and some of my thoughts.
This summer I've managed to do several things that I never knew was possible for me! Well if you know me or follow me on social media then you will know I am a young Muslimah woman who wears hijab - that includes covering my head, covering my face and as of recently covering my hands.
This is me at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo. My husband volunteered to do some work with one of the vendors there and that's how I knew a expo even existed. I was avoiding going to meet ups and events due to my clothing. My goal this year was to attend a meet up or conference. I'm so blessed by The Creator to have a husband who recognizes my light and push me to go to the expo. We shared a lot of behind the scenes shenanigans on Instagram live.
I discovered a strong love for beneficial crafting. Beneficial crafting for me is doing crafts that aide me in my religious studies, that keeps me mindful of Allaah and increases me in knowledge and faith.
Beneficial crafting has helped me in so many ways. It's hard to verbalize how much this has changed me internally and externally. My goal is to share these crafty projects with you all.
I don't see anyone (yet) that looks like me doing crafts. It melts my heart to get an inbox msgs from sisters telling me that their child was able to see someone that looks like them and that is so important! Representation matters. Its so important for my children to see that regardless of their clothing they can be and do anything (that is halal) that they want.
My husband has been such a blessing and instrumental in pushing me to just be myself and share what I love with others.
I'll be sharing some behind the scenes of me crafting while Muslim. Some of the ups, downs, concerns and all the fun in between. Yaaaay! I am so thankful to Allaah for this opportunity and for the support of my family and the support of you guys! I feel blessed.
If you haven't signed up yet for our two classes here at MP then it's not too late. If you want to Quran Journal then the class is here. If you want to do some Eemaan (faith) based scrapbooking then the class is here.
