Garden Goals

I miss growing my own food! I use to do this but I've gone very distracted and had to stop doing this. But, now I'm ready to start back up! I have to make time for something so important. I've discovered late last year that I have allergies (more so environmental allergies) and then I started to learn that the brain and gut are very much so connected.

I'm not really seeing much of what I CAN eat in the grocery store but I see plenty of what I WANT ! Instead of complaining I decided that it's time to take action!

From my reading and from my own experience I know it's necessary to grow my own food. Have you ever been in a position of knowing but never doing anything? .......it's truly a crime, right? What's the point of having knowledge if you don't use it?
I don't want to wait for something to happen before I make any changes.
Plus I feel like it is my responsibility to eat halal and tayyib foods.

“Material illnesses arise from an increase of matter which comes to a point of excess in the body whereby it harms its natural functions – and these are the most common illnesses. They are caused by consuming more food before the previous meal has been properly digested; by eating in excess of the amount needed by the body; by consuming food which is of little nutritional value and is slow to digest; and by eating different foods which are complex in their composition. So when a person fills his belly with these foods and it becomes a habit, they cause him various diseases…”
At-Tibb An-Nabawī p.20; Medicine of the Prophet, ITS, p13.

What are you guys doing to eat better? Are you going to grow your own food or do you already grow your own? If so would love to see some pictures and read your tips about gardening! I'm looking to learn from some friends online and my husband as I start my adventures of being a green thumb!
