The Easiest way to memorize the Noble Quran by ash- Skaykh 'Abdul 'Azeez bin Baaz
Questioner: I have a burning desire to memorize the book of Allah, so what do you think is the easiest way to memorize the Noble Quran?
Answer: The easiest way is that you specify an appropriate time for yourself for example after fajr or at night and you memorize that which is easy for you. That you seek help from Allah upon that and that you beg him with the request that he aids you with the memorization of his book and beware of sins. So this is the pathway that will lead you towards memorization of the Quran. Firstly: Diligence upon being precise in the time that you specify for memorization. Secondly: Imploring and beseeching Allah that he assist you, grants you success and makes the memorization of his book easy upon you. The Third Instruction: That you avoid sins, because the evils of sins are deadly and their consequences are fatal and perhaps they could prevent you from the memorization of the Quran as a punishment to you. And there is no might nor power except with Allah. How to memorise and review the Qur’ān? – Shaykh Abdullah Bukhari
Shaykh Abdullah Bukhari answers a very important question in relation to how the Qur’ān should be memorised. A much needed reminder for us all.
The question – may Allāh bless you – is concerning how to memorise and review the Qur’ān? Firstly, memorise the Qur’ān from a teacher who is proficient, a sincere advisor and Sunnī (firm upon the Sunnah). Memorising the Qur’ān is just like the other sciences and branches from the branches of studying (talab al-‘ilm). You are to read (the Qur’ān) to a man upon the Sunnah, who is knowledgeable, has memorised, good and precise (in what he teaches). Don’t read the Qur’ān whilst solely relying on that which is between the two covers of the noble mushaf. You say (to yourself), “I’m going to memorise on my own” This is not proper and correct.
