Hey friends, how are you?​

Today I want to share a little bit about why this blog exists and what I hope it brings to you.

Some of you might not know, but I actually started as a blogger many years ago. Back then, it was joy ….writing posts, building a little corner of community, and having real conversations with women who connected with my words. It felt awesome to create a space where stories and encouragement could meet.

Blogging gave me something constructive and meaningful to focus on.

If you’re new here, my creative journey began during an interesting life changing season. After my doctor told me I was experiencing postpartum anxiety, I turned to creativity as a way to cope…

Today I sent out my first blog post (in a while) to everyone. It was messy with extra code, and I’m sure it looked like spam. Trust me… I wouldn’t have opened it myself and would have gone straight to the source.

I’m a mom of 8, a wife, a homemaker, and a children’s book illustrator. Some days it’s hard to manage everything. To be honest… I can’t manage it all. Sometimes I come to Mariam Poppins and just do my best.

Between my bouncing baby and learning to code my blog, I feel pretty good that I showed up and did the work.

Was I disappointed with how janky it looked with the code showing? Yes, I was.

Still…

I’m here! And so I’m sending this extra blog post out into the world 🌎 to let you know it’s really me emailing, lol 😂. I know we live in a world where bots 🤖 do their bot thing. But this is me…scribbling through life, trying to get you all to hang out with me on our website.​

Recently a beautiful friend of mine, Holly. Passed away. May Allaah make her grave spacious, forgive her for her sins and grant her His highest level of Jannah Aameen.

Holly was a close friend and companion to many. We are heartbroken that she is no longer with us. I will miss her immensely and I hope we see each other again in Paradise Aameen. 
She was a writer here at Mariam Poppins when we had a magazine. She also wrote post on our Facebook page and help me with so many things in my life. ماشاء الله
