Happy Thursday everyone!
I have a series on the blog where I'm going to share some simple things I do to get closer to Allaah. If you aren't sure what I'm talking about then you can check out the introduction to this series. My goal is to help myself by implementing things I can realistically do to get closer to Allaah in my life.
I feel like sometimes I'm overly busy and I made up my mind a long time ago that I just don't have enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do. I'm homeschooling, helping my husband, trying to be a friend or make friends, run a shop and get to Jannah. I want to talk more about the last thing I'm trying to do - go to Jannah. I know my life responsibilities doesn't stop so I gotta put things right in order to not wrong myself and get closer to Allaah.
I make time to do journaling. Journaling is one of my favorite past times and mix that with Qur'aan and remembering Allaah then it's so beneficial. I've talked about Qur'aan Journaling before but I'm not referring to that. I love to journal and letter the ayats that I read. Right now I'm referring to is guided journaling. I use the Qur'aan Journaling to freely journal what I'm feeling or what I'm thinking but I felt the need to have a journal that will guide me.
In the morning time after Fajr is the best time for me. It's the honest truth. I get peace and quiet in the early morning hours. When my household is up then everything is about them and their needs and I don't have a problem with that but sometimes I get so busy and distracted that I don't always remember to sit down and read Qur'aan or do Islaamic Studies.
So I made me this insert for my journal to help me be more intentional in my day. I closed my eyes and thought about my life as a Muslimah. I literally closed my eyes while typing up that insert. What are my Ibaadah essentials? What do I need to get me from point A to point B. What does Ameenah need to get closer to Allaah? You know your life Ameenah so what can you really do to get to where you need to go? I so need Allaah. No matter how much I have going on I gotta have more than a "I make my prayers on time" relationship with Allaah. So many of my problems would be fixed if I just came to Allaah. You ever feel like you are ever missing a piece of a puzzle? It's like if you had just one more thing, one more bit of information, one more this or that then it'll click! That's how I feel like everyday.
I wrote some things in my journal that I want to ask myself and then I made space for Qur'aan Journaling. I combined to things that I love to help my life a little bit more. I love journaling and I love Islaam. My life is short and there are 24 hours in a day. There's enough time in the day to get closer to Allaah and journaling is how I use some of that time.
What about you guys? What are you doing to get closer to Allaah.
Oh be on the look out for Part 2 of this series coming soon! Yaaay!
